Innova Living’s major mission is to develop and deploy Web based platforms and services that deliver strong and measurable impact on the health and active living of people with special focus on senior citizens and their families.

Social innovation and citizen engagement

Innova Living applies a social innovation and citizen engagement strategy based on the Living Labs methodology.

Living Labs are open innovation ecosystems in real-life environments using iterative feedback processes throughout a lifecycle approach of innovation to create sustainable impact. They focus on co-creation, rapid prototyping, testing and scaling up innovations and businesses, providing joint-values and benefits to the involved stakeholders. We aim to provide a model for integrated care at home supported by key stakeholders – family members, neighbours, friends, informal caregivers, etc. Innova Living’s services aim to create and support a vibrant community that fosters a healthy lifestyle. Customised user interfaces will allow customers to get easy access to the system.

Innova Living provides personalised services based on advanced User Experience design and ICT, such as: Mobile Apps, Internet of Things, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Digital Twin, and others.

Prof. Dr. Roumen Nikolov

Works actively in the area of Internet of Things, Future Internet, Smart City applications, AI, Big Data, Digital Repositories and Services, Knowledge Management, Innovation, e-learning, application of Living Labs methodology and tools in development of innovative products and services, etc. Roumen specialised in USA, UK, the Netherlands, and other countries. He is also Member of the MB of ACTIVAGE.ORG and member of AIOTI, Co-Chair of WG Health. He has participated in more than 100 EU FP projects (since FP4), such as: H2020 AI4EU, H2020 LSP ACTIVAGE, H2020 BOWI, H2020 Cross4Health; EIT Climate KIC TRANSFORM Project; FP7: ELLIOT, TARGET, SISTER, ECOSPACE, TENCompetence, etc. He has more than 100 publications. He is also a UNESCO Chairholder.

Highly experienced professional in the fields of Innovation Management, Inbound and Outbound Transnational Technology Transfer (TTT), Strategic Business Development and Management of complex Projects. Special focus and expertise in the end-to-end process management from the definition, structuring, and detailed functionality definition to the final implementation and support of sophisticated and complex WEB projects, delivering services with measurable value. Areas of professional interest: IT, WEB, eHealth, mHealth, Remote monitoring, Smart homes, Automation and Control Systems. Believes in business activities bringing significant social impact.

Background is in strategy & business development and in venturing. Realised to start-up 18 new ventures in the fields of digital medical and social services, sustainable energy solutions, sustainable food production in closed greenhouses, water purification with solar energy, Interactive multimedia, bio-technology, high tech fibers and business consultancy. The start-ups have been established in several countries in Europe, Middle East, Asia and South America. For most start-ups an exit has been realised.
